讲者介绍

王大顺（Dashun Wang）是Kellogg School of Management的终身教授，也是西北大学科学与创新科学中心（CSSI）的创始主任。他目前的研究重点是科学学（The Science of Science），一种将科学方法和好奇心转向科学本身的探索，希望利用和开发复杂科学和人工智能的工具，广泛探索最近科学数据爆炸带来的创新机会和繁荣前景。他的研究多次在《自然》和《科学》等杂志上发表，几乎所有主要的全球媒体都对他的研究进行了报道。大顺曾是美国国立卫生研究院（National Institutes of Health）和陈-扎克伯格倡议（Chan Zuckerberg Initiative）等组织的顾问。他因其研究和教学获得多项奖项，包括AFOSR青年调查员奖（2016年）、Poets & Quants最佳40岁以下教授奖（2019年）、复杂系统学会青年科学家奖（2020年）等。他的第一本书《The Science of Science》将于2021年2月出版，该书与Albert-László Barabási 合著。
英文版本：Abstract：Creativity is broadly distributed across the globe, but opportunities are not. How might research from the emerging field of the science of science and innovation positively impact global inequality? How might insights from this field help individuals and communities typically underrepresented in the area of innovation to achieve their full creative potential? In this talk, I’ll present a brief introduction to a new global initiative: Saving Marie Curies, which aims to apply scientific methods and accelerate the use of big data and AI, to help elevate the rate of innovation for underrepresented innovators worldwide. BIO:Dashun Wang is a tenured professor at the Kellogg School of Management and the Founding Director of the Center for Science of Science and Innovation (CSSI), Northwestern University. His current research focus is on the Science of Science, a quest to turn the scientific methods and curiosities upon science itself, hoping to use and develop tools from complexity sciences and artificial intelligence to broadly explore the opportunities for innovation and promises of prosperity offered by the recent data explosion in science. His research has been published repeatedly in journals like Nature and Science, and has been featured in virtually all major global media outlets. Dashun has been an advisor for organizations like the National Institutes of Health and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. He is a recipient of multiple awards for his research and teaching, including AFOSR Young Investigator award (2016), Poets & Quants Best 40 Under 40 Professors (2019), Junior Scientific Award from the Complex Systems Society (2020), and more. His first book, The Science of Science, coauthored with Albert-László Barabási , is forthcoming in February 2021.
